We are a full-service provider and a distributor for an exclusive worldwide manufacturer of food service equipment to the entire Rocky Mountain region including Colorado, New Mexico, and Southern Wyoming. We work with a wide variety of food service establishments finding the right equipment solutions and avenues to be more profitable for our customers. Our Customer Service philosophy and personal stake in our associates are what set us apart from the competition. We are growing our team and currently looking for qualified Field Service Technicians. The equipment we service includes “cold” side and “hot side” cooking equipment. Soft serve ice cream machines, shakes, frozen yogurt, grills, speed ovens, conveyor ovens, custard machines, frozen dessert machines, frozen beverage machines, and the list goes on and on.

Responsibilities and Duties 

As a Service Technician for RMD, your primary responsibility will be maintaining a world-class level of professional customer service coupled with repairing and maintaining mission critical food service equipment with your primary service territory being Albuquerque, New Mexico and the surrounding metro area. When one of our customers calls needing assistance with a malfunction with their equipment, it now becomes the number one priority for RMD to ensure that their equipment gets up and running as soon as possible. RMD supplies every technician with the most up to date resources, tools, and technology in the industry, including smartphones and tablets with over 100 years of service and technical experience, RMD offers a stable, rewarding, and challenging career opportunity.

Your objectives:

• Client Interaction: Ensure client concerns are addressed promptly and professionally. 

• Customer Support: Provide telephone and video support for troubleshooting. 

• Equipment Handling: Deliver, install, maintain, repair, and evaluate various specialty food service equipment, including clamshell grills, frozen uncarbonated beverage (FUB) units, frozen carbonated beverage (FCB) machines, soft serve machines, shake, yogurt, and custard machines, pressure fryers, and combi ovens. 

• Efficient Repairs: Assess and complete repairs quickly, efficiently, and accurately. 

• Service Requests: Manage electronic service requests on mobile devices, including cell phones and tablets. 

• Customer Commitment: Relentlessly provide one-stop, lifelong sales, and world-class service. 

• Prompt Responses: Receive and respond promptly to dispatched service calls. 

• Preventative Maintenance: Execute preventative maintenance and troubleshoot a variety of commercial kitchen equipment. 

• Team Collaboration: Embrace a collaborative approach with exceptional customer relationship skills. 

• Independent Work: Function as a self-starter, capable of working with minimal oversight. 

• Clear Communication: Efficiently and effectively communicate with customers. 

• Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain company-provided vehicles according to company guidelines. 

Qualifications and Skills

• Certification: Minimum EPA Section 608 Certification – Type 1. 

• Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in HVAC and/or the commercial restaurant equipment industry. Preference given to those with HVAC certifications, vocational training, or industry-specific education. 

• Relevant Background: Experience in refrigeration, appliance repair, mechanical, or electrical fields, particularly related to commercial restaurant equipment. 

• Preferred Knowledge: Familiarity with Middleby Manufacturing Lines (e.g., Taylor, Blodgett, Pitco) or similar equipment (e.g., Rational, Garland, Bunn). 

• Technical Experience: Previous technical role with significant customer interaction. 

• Tech-Savvy: Proficient with smartphones and tablets, with the ability to learn and navigate new software quickly. 

• Diligence: Meticulous and detail oriented. 

• Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal. A second language is an advantage. 

• Motivation: Internally driven with a strong work ethic and sense of urgency. 

• Education: High School diploma required; HVAC certifications or vocational training are preferred. 

• Legal Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. 

• Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. 

• Documentation: Properly document all maintenance and repair services performed. 

• Availability: Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as part of a limited rotation schedule, as needed. 

Travel Requirements:

Albuquerque will be your “home base” and local travel throughout Albuquerque and surrounding areas required daily. Occasional travel may be required outside your local territory though rarely more than 1-2 days in length.
